Do you remember when you knocked on doors? When no one knew your name? Before being a successful entrepreneur, you would want someone to trust your idea. Entre Jaguares, that’s it, it’s the opportunity you would have wanted to have.

Entre Jaguares is the first platform where different media outlets – Publish Group, Grupo Prensa Libre, República and Radio infinita- come together and combine their reach and communication experience to promote entrepreneurship in the country. Through this platform with a million-dollar audience, they communicate and generate high-value content for the more than 2 million entrepreneurs in the country.

Entrepreneurship is a driving force behind economic growth, and it is one of the essential engines in the health and wealth of a country, since it not only promotes the generation of jobs, but also fosters innovation, competition, and development.

Joseph Schumpeter, an astro-American economist, places the entrepreneur at the center of the economic system, “profit comes from change, and this is produced by the innovative entrepreneur.” Fostering an entrepreneurial culture is vital for any economy. The generation of new companies makes the market evolve and grow, promotes economic growth, creates labor demand, proposes new alternatives to generate wealth and improves people’s quality of life.

Entrepreneurship can find solutions to many of the toughest economic, environmental, and social problems we face today. Often, this generation of start-ups brings with it new ideas, technologies and products for society. The new successful business contributes to structural change, offering goods or services that people need, but can also afford.

According to the Global Entrepreneurship Movement (GEM), Guatemala has the fourth highest early entrepreneurship rate in the world (28.3%). Of the four phases of the entrepreneurial process, three are higher in our country than in the rest of Latin America: potential entrepreneurship -46.3%-, early entrepreneurship -28.3%- and established entrepreneurship -12.7%. The GEM also states that, compared to the Latin American region, in our country, entrepreneurship is considered a desirable option and a good opportunity to generate income.

We are in a moment of great importance for the country, these figures should motivate us to care for and promote young people who seek to undertake. Initiatives, programs and actions that facilitate opening spaces for entrepreneurs in Guatemala must be implemented. Achieving this goal requires a joint effort and key alliances between various sectors, because it is an impossible task to perform individually. It needs everyone’s involvement.

In this sense, Entre Jaguares arises as an opportunity not only to promote an entrepreneurial culture, but also to support entrepreneurs and their businesses and encourage them to become success stories. Investing in new talent is investing in a better future for the country.
