A majority in the House of Representatives has adopted a temporary proposal that extends the budget period by 45 days. It happened a few hours before the deadline for adopting a new state budget in the United States passed.

TV images show that a majority in the House of Representatives voted for a temporary budget that extends the budget period and temporarily averts a closure of the state apparatus.

So it appears that a shutdown of the state apparatus has been averted. At least until mid-November.

The proposal was adopted by 335 votes to 91 during the vote on Saturday afternoon local time. It will now move to a vote in the Senate, where Democrats have a majority. They have until midnight local time to approve the proposal.

According to American media, the temporary budget has money set aside for disaster relief for areas in the US affected by natural disasters. But no money has been allocated for military or other financial support to Ukraine.
