The teacher in charge of the room discovered the 9 mm weapon and called the police.
A teacher in charge of a nursery school room in Santa Fe found a 9-millimeter weapon in the backpack of a two-year-old boy. The finding, which caused a commotion in the Loyola neighborhood, north of the provincial capital, set off alarms and the minor’s parents were arrested.
The fact perplexed the teachers in charge of the Loyola Sur Municipal Garden. The two-year-old boy, who was in the adjustment period when he entered for a vacancy available a short time ago, was left in the care of his grandmother.
It all happened shortly after the children entered the room. After leaving the backpacks on the racks, the teacher in charge went to get the things for breakfast and there she found the weapon.
“The backpacks are left on the racks and in the rooms of 2, which are among the youngest, the teacher helps them build that habit of leaving their backpacks on the racks, and with the assistants they remove the things to drink the milk, the diapers, and when she went to remove the things, she found the firearm,” the Undersecretary of Education and Culture of the city of Santa Fe, Huaira Basaber, told the TN channel.
The official specified that the protocol was immediately activated and the institution called 911.
“The family was going to look for him early. In a very short time the family, the child’s parents, were detained having to give explanations, and we had the authorizations for another family to go look for him,” added Basaber.
The baby was left in the care of the grandmother and, according to the municipal official, he will continue to go to the garden.
