A methodology repeated during the last months in Rosario: they shoot down a police station and leave a threatening note. On that occasion, it happened the same day that they replaced the police leadership again and the message was addressed to the Penitentiary Service.
Three shots were fired from inside a van. Two hit the front of the 20th police station headquarters. The other hit the fender of a parked car.
The attack occurred around 8:30 p.m., in the office located on Carrasco Street at 5800, in the Empalme Graneros neighborhood, located in the northwest area of Rosario.

They also left a handwritten note addressed to the Prison Service. However, the new chief of the Rosario Police, Daniel Acosta, reported: “We cannot disseminate its content or read what the note says because it is a very finite letter. First you have to wait for the expertise.”
The police chief, who had assumed his functions hours before, found out “by radio” about the attack, so it went “directly” to the police station.
“It is an attack against a unit that represents the State. It is worrisome and draws attention, but this has been happening for a while and we have to work hard,” he remarked, adding: “We are working, we know it is a hard time.”
The Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) analyzed the bullet holes, while the case was left in the hands of the prosecutor on duty of the Special Shooting Unit of the Rosario Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Two other police headquarters had been attacked this week and the alleged hitmen left, as in this case, intimidating notes.
In fact, the shooting against the 20th police station occurred one day after the double attack committed on Monday night, when almost simultaneously and with the same methodology, the 16th police station, in the Tablada neighborhood, and the West Zone Penitentiary Complex were shot. known as Order, whose headquarters was the target of shooting six times.
In the midst of the wave of violence and insecurity that is plaguing Rosario, the Santa Fe Ministry of Security ordered on Tuesday the replacement of the chief and deputy chief of the Rosario police, who had assumed their duties last January.
Thus, Daniel Acosta and Mariano Gobi took over in the morning from Adrián Galigani and Iván González, chief and deputy chief, respectively, of the Rosario Regional Unit.
Acosta had been in command of the VIII General López Regional Unit, based in Melincué, and it is not the first time that he has been in charge of the Rosario Police.
In 2021 he held the same position, although he was removed a month and a half later by then-minister Marcelo Saín. Since December 2019, the leadership of the Rosario Regional Unit has been removed 11 times.
Two new crimes: there are already 132 in the year
Between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, two new crimes were registered in Rosario, bringing them to 132 so far in 2023.
The first incident occurred around 9:00 p.m., at 200 Rouillón Street and the railroad tracks, in the Ludueña neighborhood, in the northwest area of the city.

In that place, a 30-year-old man was attacked by unknown persons. He had several gunshot wounds, so he was taken by neighbors in a private vehicle to the San Martín Polyclinic, where they could not save his life.
At the crime scene they kidnapped at least seven served pods and a deformed 9-millimeter lead. Impacts were also detected in the front of a home and in a car parked on the block.
The case is being investigated by the intentional homicide prosecutor on duty in Rosario, Gastón Ávila, who ordered a series of measures aimed at determining the mechanics of the act and identifying the aggressor(s).
Added to this episode was another of similar characteristics that occurred late in the morning today. A 20-year-old young man, identified as Elías Galeano, was assassinated in Presidente Quintana around 1900, in the Matheu neighborhood, in the south of Rosario.
Around 3:30 a.m., police personnel arrived at the scene alerted by a wounded man, but they found the young man dead from several shots.

There were five bullet holes and in different parts of the body such as the left forearm, the neck, the temple and the mouth.
The prosecutor Gastón Ávila also intervenes in the case to try to clarify the causes.
