It all happened in a few minutes and in broad daylight. Two criminals at gunpoint assaulted a Pago Fácil store, in a Rosario neighborhood, and took more than $9 million.
The robbery occurred after 11:30 a.m. in a store located on Guatemala Street, between Eva Perón and Tucumán, in the Belgrano neighborhood. According to the witnesses, there was only one employee in the business dedicated to collecting taxes and services, as well as receiving and sending cash through Western Union.
According to various local media reports, two men entered the premises and when the employee approached the gate they showed her the weapon and forced her to open the door through which the boxes are accessed.
“They told us that they had entered to rob and when we arrived everything was already mixed up,” Javier, one of the managers of the business, later recounted, confirming that at least two armed men participated in the act.
Apparently the criminals entered with the knowledge of where the money was because they went directly to the sector where there was a bag with a significant amount of money.
The truth is that after reducing the employee, the criminals took the collection and left very calmly in front of the premises.
As confirmed by the manager, the thieves “took the hard drive” from the security cameras. “They knew where everything was, that’s why we suspect that they carried out intelligence work,” said the merchant.
The custodian of a company killed a thief who had stolen an employee’s backpack
A young man who was traveling with another criminal on a motorcycle died after exchanging firearm shots with a custodian of a company in Rosario.
The violent event occurred around 7:30 this Thursday, in the entrance area of the Falcone Bodetto company (industrialization of ophthalmic lenses), located on Santa Fe at 4500.
Witnesses confirmed that there was a shootout between a criminal and the custodian of the place, due to the theft of a backpack from one of the company’s employees, according to the newspaper La Capital.
Police sources confirmed that two strangers on a motorcycle assaulted a worker when he was entering the place: they stole his backpack.
After the struggle and the robbery, a retired police officer who works as a custodian for the company, and who was stationed inside a car on the same block, responded to the attack.
“I heard the shots from inside the company, there were about seven or eight,” said one of the employees.
In dialogue with Radio 2, the employee recounted the violent moment he experienced: “A colleague’s backpack was stolen at the entrance gate, when he was already entering. We have a custodian policeman who ‘stopped’ the offender, They responded with a shot and he repelled,” he said.
After the exchange of shots, and the escape on a motorcycle, the offender who was carrying the backpack fell some 50 meters from the scene: he had been shot. He died instantly.
Meanwhile, according to the account of some of the witnesses, the motorcycle driver fled.
