A security camera recorded the video of the attack in which Evelyn Marianela Portillo, 25 years old and mother of a 4-year-old girl, was killed.
Evelyn Marianela Portillo (25 years old) was with friends on the sidewalk, in Rafael Castillo, La Matanza district. Suddenly, from two motorcycles a burst of shots fell on the group. One of the shots hit Evelyn in the back, who died when she was rushed to the hospital. Now, the investigators have more evidence of the episode: the scene was recorded on video by a home security camera.
The episode occurred on Sunday around 2 in the morning, when the young woman was with her boyfriend and at least five other friends at the intersection of García Merou and Polledo streets. The area, of seized land, is known as “La Nueva Unión”. Suddenly, from two motorcycles, four suspects opened fire on the group.
Faced with the attack, the friends fled desperately in different directions: three managed to open a barred door and entered the house from which the video was taken; the rest ran off to the right.

Seconds later, two of the friends pass in front of the camera, who were being chased by the two hitmen with a vehicle. The motorcycle crosses from right to left and gets lost in the escape.
A bullet hit Portillo, the mother of a 4-year-old girl, in the back. She was urgently transferred to the Favaloro Hospital, in Rafael Castillo, but she arrived lifeless at that medical center. Two men also suffered injuries.

The investigators, who now have the video of the episode, ruled out that it was an attempted robbery. The strongest hypothesis is that it was a failed reckoning, targeting a well-known drug dealer in the area, in the context of a confrontation between gangs that are dedicated to drug dealing.
The victim’s boyfriend managed to identify one of the attackers, nicknamed “Chuki”.
The case is in the hands of the prosecutor Karina Licalzi in charge of the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) Thematic Homicide of La Matanza.
Angered by the crime, some neighbors demonstrated on Sunday night demanding justice for Evelyn. There were moments of tension, with the launching of projectiles at the police and the burning of a security booth 200 meters from where Evelyn was murdered.
The demonstrators blocked the street and threw stones at the police headquarters and the patrol cars. The police officers took refuge behind the vehicles and then left the scene. In the videos of the protest, almost 30 bursts of bullets are heard.
In addition, a group of neighbors set fire to a container that served as a checkpoint for the Police.
Evelyn was veiled this Monday morning, in a meeting in which the security claims were repeated. “There is no life, we are not the owners of having a family reunion or doing anything, this has to end,” said Luján, a friend of the victim, in dialogue with Radio Universidad.
