Donald Trump didn’t seem to fully understand one of his own important policy proposals during a Fox news interview broadcast on Monday night.
Trump said last year he would seek the death penalty for drug dealers if he wins the election next year and returns to the White House.
But during the interview with Bret BaierTrump boasted that he had held a presidential election Excuse me to Alice Johnson, who served 21 years in prison after being convicted of her role in a cocaine ring.
Baier intervened with a fact check.
“But according to your plan she was going to be killed,” he interjected.
Trump seemed nervous.
“Huh?” he said.
“As a drug dealer,” Baier began.
“No, no, no,” Trump replied. “Under me? Oh, under there? Uhhhh… it would depend on the severity.”
