Two brothers were sentenced this Friday to 82 years and one month in prison for the kidnapping of the minor Enoc Misael Pérez Chinchilla, robbery with violence and the murder of two relatives and their nanny, in 2019, when he was on vacation in the country from Spain. central american.

The resolution was issued by “unanimous vote” by the National Sentencing Court against the brothers Juan José and Leonel Núñez Murcia, the Honduran Supreme Court of Justice said in a Twitter message.

The Núñez Murcia brothers were sentenced for “unfair deprivation of liberty to the detriment of the minor Enoc Pérez, robbery with aggravated violence and 3 crimes of murder,” he added.

The spokesperson for the Judiciary, Lucía Villars, told reporters that the defendants’ defense has 20 days to file an appeal, otherwise the sentence will remain final.

The same court also issued “accessory penalties of absolute disqualification” against the two men, who were arrested in 2020 and found guilty at the end of last March.

Enoc Misael, 12, had arrived in November 2019 in the Honduran Caribbean port city of Tela, where he was kidnapped on December 3, according to local authorities.

His grandfather, Rubilio Arturo Pérez, an uncle, Israel Ramos, and his nanny, Cindy Xiomara Castro, were murdered the same day as the kidnapping, according to the boy’s mother, Dunia Karina Chinchilla, who has lived in Spain for several years, where she had taken his son when he was nine years old.

Since the kidnapping, the boy’s mother has been demanding that the Honduran authorities find him, just like the kidnappers, and punish them to the fullest extent of the law.

In this case, at least four people have been arrested who would be the alleged perpetrators of the kidnapping and murder of their relatives and their nanny, of whom one of them, Bayron Meléndez, was found dead in a so-called maximum security prison in the department of Santa Barbara, in the west of the country.

In December 2019, Carlos Roberto Rodas was captured, who apparently demanded money from the minor’s relatives.
