The U-20 World Cup closed this Sunday with the first title in the category for Uruguay thanks to a header by Luciano Rodríguez in the 86th minute, which gave Celeste victory over Italy at the Único de La Plata stadium.

The consecration came in the third final played by La Celeste and in a very special setting: with a stadium packed with nearly 40,000 fans, and of these some 30,000 came from Uruguay.

With a title appear Spain (1999), Ghana (2009), Germany (1981), France (2013), England (2017), Ukraine (2019) and the Soviet Union (1977) and now Uruguay (2023) is added to that list ).

3. ISRAEL DEFEATS SOUTH KOREA AND ACHIEVES THE BRONZE MEDAL

The Israel team climbed to the last place on the podium of the U-20 World Cup after beating South Korea 3-1 in the match for third place, played in the city of La Plata.

The captain of Italy Césare Casadei achieved the golden spoils of the World Cup with seven goals.
