Fox news host Jeanine Pirro raised eyebrows on social media with an unintentional ambiguity after Thursday impeachment hearings went sideways for the Republicans.
“You know what’s so great about this? Look, this is an impeachment inquiry, okay?” she said Thursday on “The Five.” “You won’t blow up the wad or the witness at the investigation, okay?”
She suggested that Republicans save the good stuff.
“What you do is wait for the trial to happen,” she said. “You don’t allow anyone to be impeached or cross-examined. You only need to provide the minimum amount of evidence you need.”
Two witnesses called by Republican lawmakers flatly admitted there wasn’t enough evidence for an impeachment, and Democratic lawmakers on the committee openly mocked the hearings as a farce.
“As a former director of emergency management, I know a disaster when I see one,” said Rep. Jared Moscowwitz (D-Fla.).
Moskowitz also had something to say about Pirro’s comment:
Other critics on X, formerly Twitter, also chimed in:
This would actually be the point where you would want to present solid evidence to justify an impeachment.
