One of them is the owner of the car used by the criminals. They are looking for two other men.
“Currently, in the suburbs there is a degradation of the world of crime. The criminals are very obvious. And sometimes you have to investigate with a simple, basic look.” The speaker is one of the investigators of the crime of businessman Gabriel Izzo (58) and the attempted murder of his partner, Silvana Petinari (56).
The victims were surprised at dawn on Friday, when they were sleeping at their home in San Antonio de Padua, Merlo. Four men entered after forcing a blind and pointed at them to demand money and jewelry. Izzo resisted. It is believed that he would have used at least one of his two weapons: a 40-caliber Bersa pistol and a 38 revolver. He managed to shoot them, but fell dead from the criminals’ bullets, which also left his wife seriously injured .
On Saturday morning, three men were apprehended in two houses in Ituzaingo. The first two are Walter “the Uruguayan” Rodríguez Sierra and one of his sons, Gerardo (18). The third is a friend of Gerardo’s, the same age as him. Two other people were also identified. Although they were not found in the two raided homes.
Investigators reached the Rodríguez for the gray Volkswagen Gol Power used for the event. “El Uruguayo” is its owner. The car was found a few meters from the “Mandale mecha” kiosk. “El Uruguayo” is also the owner of the trade.
“We raided the kiosk and found a camera system. When we entered the Rodríguez’s house, we discovered two 50-inch televisions and a monitoring system from where they observed the kiosk and the car,” says one of the investigators. And he warns: “Until now Rodríguez Sr. has not been charged with the development of the act. He is being investigated as a co-author, for having provided the order for the commission of the crime.”

His son is arrested for being one of the holders to drive the car and for his “physical characteristics”, which would be similar to those of the four men registered in images prior to the robbery, and the escape. His friend is in the same condition. “They were apprehended only to do errands: verify injuries (since Izzo resisted and would have struggled with his murderers) and take lead tests in their hands,” clarifies a source consulted by Clarín.
The only one who was registered behind the wheel of the Gol and who was identified by neighbors is Gustavo “el Chapista”. That’s how they know him in his neighborhood. He is the man who parked the car in front of Rodríguez’s kiosk. Personnel from the Merlo DDI and the Merlo Second Police Station raided his home, with negative results. “He practically lives in a state of destitution. His addiction to drugs is notorious,” says the detective. The investigation is carried out by the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 5 of Morón, in charge of Claudio Oviedo and Marisa Monti.
In the Gol they kidnapped a mitten, a barrette, a short padlock and a knob of instant glue. Criminals have lately used this product on their fingers to avoid leaving fingerprints. Replaced gloves. Another detail is a seal on the rearview mirror. It has characteristics similar to those found in the victims’ house.

Gustavo Macdougall is the other identified person whose home was raided and was not found. He appears as the third person authorized to drive the Goal.
“El Uruguayo” Rodríguez manages at least 7 kiosks in Morón. At his home, they seized 72 40-caliber ammunition, one of the weapons used in the assault. He is well known in the “Fondo” area of the municipality, he would belong to the fans of Morón and for two or three decades he has been linked to local politics. He is a painter of political graffiti and in the management of Ramiro Tagliaferro as mayor of Morón, between 2015 and 2019, he was the driver of Carlos Rebagliatti, former secretary of local Government. His son Gerardo is an employee of the Morón Deliberative Council.
