The president of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, was received this Saturday to the rhythm of the popular song “Snail soup” on his official visit to the People’s Republic of China.

The song was performed with instruments typical of Chinese culture by a group of young artists when President Xiomara Castro was received by the president of the Huawei company, Liang Hua.

In it video that they shared on social networks, the President was surprised when she heard the well-known song Sopa de Caracol by the Honduran group Banda Blanca.

The Honduran president, together with the Chancellor and all her entourage that accompanies her on her official visit, listened for a few minutes to one of the most famous musical hits in Honduras.

Official visit in China

Castro is located in China for a six-day official visit during which he will meet his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, just three months after the Central American country broke its diplomatic ties with Taiwan to establish them with the Asian giant.

The president also visited today the research and development center of the technology company Huawei, and then will leave for Beijing “to mark a historic milestone,” said the Honduran government.

Castro will meet with Xi Jinping during his stay in the capital, although for the moment the date of the bilateral meeting has not been released, in which the signing of agreements and memoranda in various areas is also expected.

Honduras and China announced on March 26 the establishment of diplomatic relations, hours after the Central American country made official the break of those it had with Taiwan since 1941.
