After five seasons, several spin-offs and endless drama, “Yellowstone” is officially coming to an end.

The Kevin Costner-led western show will air the second half of its fifth and final season in November before rolling out an untitled sequel series in December.

“‘Yellowstone’ has been the cornerstone upon which we’ve launched an entire universe of worldwide hits – from ‘1883’ to ‘Tulsa King’, and I’m confident our follow-up to ‘Yellowstone’ will be another big hit, thanks to the brilliant creative mind of Taylor Sheridan and our incredible casts who bring these shows to life,” Chris McCarthy, president and CEO of MTV Entertainment Studios, the company that produces the show, said in a statement.

David Glasser, the CEO of 101, another studio producing the beloved series, said: “The Dutton story continues and picks up where ‘Yellowstone’ left off in another epic. We are excited to bring this new journey to an audience to take it all over the world.”

Other than that, not much is known about the new series.

It’s widely believed that this will be the spin-off that will star Matthew McConaughey, but there’s no word on what kind of role he’ll play. No other casting news has been released, but judging by Glasser’s statement, it looks like we’ll be seeing a lot of familiar faces.

‘YELLOWSTONE’ FANS CHASE KEVIN COSTNER FOR MOVIE UPDATE WHILE HE PROMOTES A NEW MOVIE

This echoes what many “Yellowstone” cast members have been saying for several months – that they want to keep working on the show for a long time to come.

According to many widespread rumors, the problem lies with Costner, who is widely reported to be the reason for the delay, which we now know will come almost a year later than previously planned.

After the first half of the fifth season aired late last year, the show took a vacation hiatus. They were supposed to start filming again at the start of the new year, but that was pushed back to sometime this summer, and now we know it’s been pushed back even further.

Multiple sources continued to claim that Costner only wanted to work one week to film the rest of the episodes, which would be difficult since he’s the star of the show.

In February, Costner’s attorney Marty Singer issued a statement about that rumor to Fox News Digital, saying, “The idea that Kevin only wanted to spend a week working on the second half of Season 5 of ‘Yellowstone’ is an absolute lie. It’s ridiculous. – and anyone who suggests it should not be believed for a second. As anyone who knows anything about Kevin knows, he is incredibly passionate about the show and has always put a lot of effort into ensuring its success.”

At the time, a Paramount Network spokesperson told Fox News Digital, “We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a huge part of ‘Yellowstone’ and we hope to continue to be so for a long time to come.”

Last month, McCarthy said the show “wouldn’t be what it is today without Kevin, and we hope it stays that way for a long time.”
