Two men have been hospitalized in Washington state after a seaplane crashed in front of a residential home Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
The crash happened at about 12:30 a.m. at the 11200 block of Greystone Drive in Lakewood, West Pierce Fire and Rescue said.
The plane was on fire in the front yard of the house when the crew arrived, firefighters said FOX13 Seattle. Two men were in the small plane when it crashed.
The two patients were rushed to area hospitals in critical condition, the fire service said. No update on their terms was immediately available.

Neighbors had helped the two men before first responders arrived, the police station reported.

Kimber Miller, a neighbor, told the station the crash was “surreal.”

“To stand there in front of your house and watch a plane crash into your driveway and go up in flames, it’s all surreal,” said Miller.

Miller said the pilot is believed to be a resident of the area and experienced flying.
