Two Nevada state troopers died Thursday after they had been struck by a car whereas serving to one other driver, authorities mentioned.
Las Vegas police, who shall be investigating the collision, deliberate to carry a media briefing at their headquarters later Thursday.
In line with police, the 2 Nevada Freeway Patrol officers had been “conducting a motorist help” early this morning on the I-15 freeway after they had been struck.

The slain troopers’ names haven’t been launched. It’s unclear whether or not the motive force who struck the troopers has been arrested.
Gov. Joe Lombardo mentioned he was “profoundly saddened” by the troopers’ deaths.

“This can be a devastating loss for Nevada regulation enforcement, town of Las Vegas, and our total state,” Lombardo mentioned in an announcement. “As we mourn these troopers, we’ll always remember their bravery, braveness, and sacrifice.”
A stretch of Nevada’s busiest freeway and several other on-ramps had been shut down after the deaths.

The I-15 was the place one other state trooper was struck and killed in 2021 throughout the pursuit of a stolen car. Trooper Micah Might was hit by a car whereas placing down spike strips to cease the suspect’s automobile.
