Two teenagers have been killed by Russian authorities in the Ukrainian city of Berdyansk, local news reports.

The pair shot dead a police officer and a civilian, according to reports.

The city of Berdyansk, in Zaporizhia Oblast, was under Russian control since the beginning of the country’s invasion of Ukraine last year.

A Ukrainian news outlet posted a video on Telegram recorded by Oganesyan shortly before his death. In it, he said they planned to kill two people and point the camera at what appears to be a Kalashnikov rifle. “That’s it, it’s death, guys, goodbye! Glory to Ukraine!” he said according to Novaya Gazeta.

In May, local news reports reported that the Russian Commission of Inquiry had charged Oganisyan and Khanganov with sabotage attempts. Novaya Gazeta.

Media Initiative for Human Rights, a Ukrainian nonprofit, reported in May that the teens had been tortured by Russian law enforcement.

Oganisyan was subjected to “cruel” interrogations involving beatings and electrical torture, the organization said. Khanganov was subjected to interrogations and “investigative experiments” when Russian investigators forced the pair to confess that they planned to sabotage the Melitopol Railway to prevent Russian troops from receiving supplies, the nonprofit said.
