The Worldwide Longshore and Warehouse Union Canada and the B.C. Maritime Employers Affiliation have agreed to a tentative deal for the second time in per week.
The native union’s caucus introduced Thursday night a tentative settlement had been reached, and the contract caucus will vote in an emergency assembly Friday on whether or not the settlement needs to be despatched to its membership for ratification.
They are saying if the contract caucus votes in favour tomorrow, the union will name a gathering to current the deal to membership.
Greater than 7,400 employees from the ILWU had walked off the job from July 1 till July 13 over points like port automation, exterior contracting and the rising price of residing.
Port operations resumed on July 13 when a tentative settlement was reached. However on Tuesday, the contract caucus rejected the tentative deal.
