“X-Males ’97” hit 4 million views in its first 5 days on Disney+.
In accordance with Disney, this marks the streamer’s most-watched premiere for a full-length animated collection since Season 1 of Marvel’s “What If…?” in 2021, placing “X-Males ’97” forward of Season 2 of “What If…?” in addition to “Star Wars: Younger Jedi Adventures,” “Iwajú” and each seasons of “The Proud Household: Louder and Prouder.” (Animated shorts, resembling “Star Wars: Visions,” “I Am Groot” and “Zootopia+” are excluded from this rely.)
“X-Males ’97” follows up on “X-Males: The Animated Collection,” which ran on Fox Children from 1992 to 1997. The collection has been positively obtained, scoring a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes with Selection critic Alison Herman writing that the collection “dedicate(s) its energies to doing proper by a nostalgia object whereas introducing itself to a brand new viewers,” for which it ” can take larger, wilder swings in its story, staying true to the fantastical nature of comics writing whereas remaining grounded in characters’ feelings.”
