A Georgia elementary school teacher faces multiple charges of child pornography following a tip from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children.
James Andrew “Drew” Cecil, 38, a fourth-grade teacher at Poole’s Mill Elementary in Cumming, was arrested after deputies investigated the tip reporting a child’s online sexual exploitation, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit began investigating allegations of the tip, which initially identified the person involved as a teacher.
During the investigation, Cecil was identified as the suspected teacher. He was eventually arrested and charged with nine counts of possession of child pornography and one count of child sexual exploitation.

The Forsyth County School System said Cecil was a teacher and volleyball coach at North Forsyth High School for five years before moving to Poole’s Mill Elementary School in 2021.
“He has not been to school since April 14 when we were made aware of the allegations against him,” the district said in a statement to Fox 5. “As of April 21, he is no longer employed by Forsyth County Schools.”

Cecil was arrested and charged with nine counts of possession of child pornography and one count of child sexual exploitation.
No children from the school district were involved in Cecil’s alleged crimes, according to investigators.

Cecil was booked in the Forsyth County Jail on $55,200 bail.
The sheriff’s office said the incident is still under investigation.
