Local airline FlySafair has their travelers’ backs as they bring back the R9 flight price, including airport taxes.
This year’s theme is called “The Lucky R9 Sale”. The airline offers 50,000 tickets to their lucky customers. The sale will take place next week and the airline has yet to announce the actual date.

The eligible tickets are for individual seats and are only available on pre-selected flights on the airline’s domestic route network for departures between May and November this year.
Mass sales began in August 2015, a year after the airline took its first flight, selling 30,000 tickets at R1 each.
In 2016, the airline sold 15,000 tickets for R2 and in 2018, 30,000 tickets were offered for R4 each. The following year, 45,000 tickets were sold at R5 each. Last year FlySafair sold more than 31,000 tickets for R8. This R9 ticket price is in honor of the group’s nine years of operation, it said.
