A young man is dead and at least six other people were shot at a Mississippi Cinco de Mayo celebration late Friday.
Ocean Springs Police Captain Ryan LeMaire said in a press release that seven people were shot at The Scratch Kitchen on Government Street.
Police arrived at the scene at 10:51 p.m. local time.
The deceased was identified by LeMaire to Fox News Digital as 19-year-old Chase Harmon of Moss Point.
The surviving victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

Some of them were treated and later released. One person was airlifted to a New Orleans facility and another underwent surgery.

No arrests had been made by Saturday afternoon and the investigation is still ongoing.
LeMaire said the department was still combing through the surveillance videos.
A man seen in surveillance photos was excluded as a suspectaccording to WLOX.
“We urge anyone with any information to call the Ocean Springs Police Department at 228-875-221,” LeMaire said in the release.

The Sun Herald reported that Ocean Springs Mayor Kenny Holloway was on the scene Saturday as police investigated the area.
A woman told the newspaper she had tried to resuscitate the victim after he fell.
“I just couldn’t leave here knowing I’ve tried everything I could to help him,” said Abranee Goldsmith. “Things like this don’t happen in Ocean Springs. You get drunk accidents, but no death.”

“The person who did the shooting was not a customer,” she said. “He didn’t get a bracelet or anything for being out here.”

Security searches every person entering the area and customers are given a bracelet upon payment of the cover. Alexander said there were about 200 people in the restaurant at the time of the shooting.
Ocean Springs is located about four miles east of Biloxi, Mississippi.
