A 22-year-old man who had been in a coma for a month regained consciousness and was able to tell his version of the events: he said that her boyfriend hit her and threw her into the void from her apartment in La Plata. The alleged 23-year-old assailant was arrested and is charged with attempted murder.

On March 28, the victim, identified as Sofía Tummo, fell into a void from a building located on 1st and 44th streets. People passing by on the street at that time called 911 and an ambulance from the Emergency System arrived. Emergency Medical Care (SAME), which urgently transferred her to the San Martín Hospital.

In that health center, she was admitted to intensive care and in critical condition for a month, until she woke up and regained consciousness. So, she recounted what happened that night of the incident and accused her boyfriend, Facundo Lemos, of having thrown her away.

At first, residents of the place had declared that they heard a previous discussion and screams between the couple. For her part, Lemos assured that the young woman had thrown herself on her account in an attempt to take her life.

The doubts ended once Tummo returned from the coma: she denied the version that her boyfriend had given to the police authorities and assured that he hit her several times until he pushed her into the void. Her statement was accompanied in the case with medical reports and the account of some witnesses.

Once the woman made the complaint, the Justice ordered the immediate arrest of the man. He was intercepted when he was leaving his house, located on Calle 8, between 634 and 635, and was detained. He is charged with attempted murder.

After Sofía Tummo woke up and told her truth, her mother posted a video on social media to demand justice: “While my daughter was fighting for her life, they said she had thrown herself. She had blows all over her body. Lemos, known as ‘drunk’, he hit her inside the apartment. He grabbed her by the neck and threw her out the window. Sofía even grabbed a cable, but he looked at her and let her fall.

“He didn’t even come down to see her. When she went down, she took a taxi saying that she was going to look for an ambulance, delaying my daughter’s medical attention, ”Guadalupe Espinoza Viale continued through tears.

Finally, he demanded that Lemos pay for what he did: “The only thing I ask for is justice. We are going to continue asking until they give him the maximum number of years that corresponds. He is a femicide. That he does not touch any woman again, that I paid for what he did to my daughter. Luckily he was able to remember what this son of a bitch did to him…”.
