Police in St. Louis, Missouri, said a woman arrested for her alleged role in a weekend shooting is no longer in custody because the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office is refusing to press charges, according to reports.
According to FOX 2 in St. Louis, Amber Booker, 33, was arrested Saturday night by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department during an investigation into a shooting near the end of a Cinco de Mayo festival.
Police shared footage of two suspects involved in the shooting, one of a woman believed to be Booker and another of a man. In both photos, the suspects are holding weapons.
The news station learned from police that attorney Kim Gardner’s office refused to press charges due to “lack of evidence” for any charges. The prosecutor also said that the victim refused to cooperate with the investigation.

Investigators were looking to charge Booker with two counts of first-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action.
“We are working closely with the police on this ongoing investigation,” Gardner’s office told Fox News Digital. “We are unable to comment further at this time.”

According to the police, a man was scraped in the upper leg and a woman was shot in the leg. Both victims have been taken to a nearby hospital and are in stable condition.
Investigations revealed that the victims were watching some men fighting from an intersection when one of the suspects started brandishing a gun. As the incident escalated, Booker allegedly fired a shot.

When the shooting occurred, the male suspect was wearing a Cardinals jersey, white shirt, light blue jeans with ripped knees, and white sneakers.
The decision not to charge the suspect comes nearly a week after the George Soros-funded St. Louis district attorney resigned amid efforts by the Missouri attorney general to have her fired for alleged neglect of her duties.

Gardner was endorsed by liberal billionaire and Democrat mega-donor Soros in 2016 and for her re-election in 2020.
Her time as a city attorney was riddled with allegations of misconduct and mishandled cases, one of which led to Gardner being publicly reprimanded and fined by the Missouri Supreme Court.

She has also been criticized for her soft-on-crime policy.
Although she submitted her resignation on May 4, it will take effect on June 1.
