This Sunday, May 14, the citizens of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and the South Atlantic Islands will once again go to the polls to elect a governor, lieutenant governor, provincial legislators and development commissioners. And as is always the case during election season, it’s normal to wonder where I should vote.
There are 141,548 people registered in the register, based on data published by the Electoral Political Observatory of the Ministry of the Interior. This list is made up of all the people who can vote and includes the following information: name and surname, sex, place and date of birth, address, type and number of document, mainly. Tierra del Fuego represents 0.41% of the national total.
Where do I vote in Tierra del Fuego?
For the elections that will take place on May 14 in the province, the provisional register can be consulted at the official Web site of the Fuegian elections of 2023.
If there is a second round, it will be on May 28.
The date was made official by Governor Gustavo Adrián Melella, through Decree No. 450/23. The Fuegians will elect the provincial governor and lieutenant governor, and the 15 seats in the provincial legislature. There will also be the elections of the municipalities and deliberative councils of the municipalities of Río Grande, Ushuaia and Tolhuin.
On the other hand, the date of the second round was also stipulated, if necessary: it will be May 28.
What happens if you are not on the electoral roll?
Complaints on this issue can be channeled through the website of the National Electoral Chamber. There, there is a PDF to download with the instructions to make the claims.
If this happens, there are two options: a direct electronic form in the event that the citizen has the possibility of digitizing the documentation; Or else download the form, fill it out and with a copy of the corresponding documents go to the nearest Justice of the Peace.
