A mass shooting at a Missouri nightclub in the early hours of Sunday morning left three people dead and one in critical condition, police said.
Officers found multiple victims at the Kansas City Klymax Lounge after arriving at the scene at 1:26 a.m. local time (2:26 a.m. ET), Kansas City Police Department said in a statement.
“Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene,” the statement said. “One of those victims was outside the lounge and the second was inside the case.”
It added that three of the victims were taken to hospital, but one of them was pronounced dead a short time later.
All victims are believed to be adults, the statement said.
“Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel responded to the scene,” it added. “They will investigate the crime scene to collect any evidence and speak to potential witnesses.”
Police have not said if anyone has been arrested in connection with the shooting or have stated a motive.
The Klymax Lounge describes itself as a “dance club and nightclub” on its Facebook page saying it has a restaurant.
NBC News has contacted the Klymax Lounge for comment.
