Footage has been released showing debris falling from the sky and nearly hitting cars on a busy road in Kiev after Ukraine’s military shot down a missile.
The incident is reported to have happened on May 29. Debris from the rocket fell just inches from the cars, crashing to the ground and then sending several plumes of smoke into the air.
Since sending tens of thousands of troops into its neighbor in February 2022, Russia has continued to strike civilian targets in Kiev and other Ukrainian cities with Russian drones and missiles. Airstrikes on targets far from the front line have also intensified recently, amid a standoff on the ground with Russian forces entrenched in eastern and southern Ukraine.
