TD Bank Group says its direct deposit system has been hit by technical issues preventing account holders from being paid.
The bank is inundated on social media with customers expressing concerns about not being able to pay bills and automatic payments causing their bills to go negative.
TD says it is working as quickly as possible to fix the problem, without giving any details about the cause of the problem.
The bank says the problem affects customers in the western and eastern regions.
It has not given a timeline for a possible solution.
The bank says it is asking customers to keep an eye on their accounts.
“Any charges incurred due to missing direct deposits will be refunded once the issue is resolved,” TD spokesperson Mick Ramos told CBC News.
