A shooting at a Father’s Day party in Chicago, Illinois, left two victims dead and three others wounded on Sunday night, city officials said.
Chicago police said five victims were shot in the Roseland neighborhood near West 99th and South Princeton before being transported to hospitals.
The victims were in a park when people in a gray Honda sedan opened fire. Two men, aged 37 and 33, were killed, police spokesman Tom Ahern said. Three men – aged 27, 25 and 19 – were hospitalized in various circumstances.
“It’s a shame this happened because today was a beautiful day. People are just enjoying their family activities, but violence is rampant in this city,” said Chicago Police Chief Tyrone Pendarvis. “It is a pity that these five persons were shot.”
