Russian President Vladimir Putin has visited Dagestan, in one of the first public appearances since the attempted coup by Wagner’s group.
With an image curated down to the last detail, classic glasses and a black suit, Putin seems to have worked hard to regain the muddied image 5 days ago, when the whole world saw how Yevgeny Prigozhin’s Wagner rose from the camps in Ukraine entered Russia, took control of the southern city of Rostov-on-Don, and then penetrated in a matter of minutes into Red Square in Moscow.
The Russian president visited the Naryn-Kala castle in Derbent, where he was greeted by the adoring crowd nearby, and also chaired a meeting dedicated to the development of tourism.
