A Georgia deputy rescued a woman trapped in a burning car over the weekend, and the life-saving incident was captured by the officer’s body camera.
On Saturday, July 1, Candler County Sheriff’s Office’s Sgt. Ashleigh Taylor responded to a 911 call from fellow motorists reporting that a vehicle had veered off Highway 46 in Metter, Georgia and crashed into a wooded embankment.
Taylor’s bodycam showed him responding to the call and soon discovered the vehicle, a red Subaru sedan, engulfed in flames.
As he runs towards the burning car, he can be heard calling out to the driver and encouraging her to untie.

“Let’s get out of the car,” Taylor said. “Take off your seat belt.”
He is next seen using a stick to break into the driver’s side window before removing the woman. After she got out of the car and lay on the ground, Taylor repeatedly asked her if anyone else was in the burning vehicle.

In the bodycam footage, the driver appears disjointed as he holds her arm and moans.
After the deputy’s conversation with the woman, he can be heard asking fellow officers to help her get away from the scene of the crash.

Police praised Taylor’s “quick actions” and thanked him for being quick on his feet before the tragedy happened.
“Sergeant Taylor’s prompt action got the driver out of a dangerous situation before it escalated,” the CCSO wrote in a Facebook post. “We would also like to thank the number of motorists who have stopped to help.”

The sheriff’s office has not released any information about the woman’s condition or the circumstances leading up to the crash. Fox News Digital’s request for more information was not immediately answered.
