Initiating the operation “Candado Litoral Atlántico”, the Police Directorate Against Maras and Gangs Against Organized Crime (Dipampco), with the support of the Police Intelligence Directorate “DIPOL” and UDEP#1, arrested alias “Ozuna”, allegedly member of the 18 Gang in La Ceiba, Atlántida.
According to Dipampco, “Ozuna” who is also called “El Ojudo”, kept the La Ceiba business in fear for extortion charges.
“Ozuna”, who is 20 years old, was arrested in the Gonzalo Rivera neighborhood of La Ceiba.
During his detention, money was found in cash, supposedly the proceeds of extortion. According to Dipampco, he demanded 5,000.00 thousand lempiras from his victim. He also confiscated a 40 mm caliber pistol.
“Ozuna” is allegedly a member of the 18 Gang. In 2019, FNAPM SPS was arrested for the crime of association and illegal storage of a commercial firearm.
The aforementioned detainee will be placed under the order of the Public Ministry of the City of La Ceiba Atlántida for *assuming him responsible for the crime of illegal carrying of firearms for the permitted use of Extortion to the detriment of a protected witness.
