The defendant tried to rob a woman in Merlo with an accomplice and even managed to shoot her. Two raids were carried out, in which they also found police equipment.
A man was arrested after a procedure carried out at his home in Moreno for attempted murder and robbery committed in the Merlo district of Buenos Aires. The surprise for the authorities came when, within the framework of that operation, they found Police equipment and a drug “kitchen” in the house.
The arrest took place on Friday morning in a house in the town of La Reja, to the west of the suburbs, after two criminals tried to rob a woman who was shot and her dog was killed.
This event occurred days ago in front of a house on Salas street between Gavilán and Amado Nervo streets in the Matera neighborhood of the Parque San Martín town, in Merlo, where the victim was about to enter his house and was approached by hooded men.
The thieves, unable to steal his belongings, fired several shots, one of which hit the dog, which died almost instantly. Immediately, the victim and his family alerted 911 and a neighborhood alarm to ask for help.
Police from the Matera de Merlo sub-commissioner began to investigate what happened and prosecutor Walter Leguisamo of Morón’s Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 6 ordered two raids.
The troops detained a young man, identified as Claudio Ponce de León (24), in a house on Antofagasta street between Balcarce and López Buchardo streets, where it was discovered that he had a home drug laboratory and police equipment with weapons and clothing.
There, the personnel seized a Bersa Thunder pistol with charger and 12 cartridges of the same caliber; two .38 revolvers, both with numbering suppressed; a .22 caliber Bersa pistol, with cartridges; two bulletproof vest covers with Police inscription; a bulletproof vest with ballistic plates; a shirt, a fleece-type jacket, and three pants, all blue from the Buenos Aires Province Police.
There was also a jacket and an orange refractory vest that read PFA (Argentine Federal Police), a sealing machine, two cell phones, four precision scales, a bottle with acetone, a nylon bag containing substance for cutting drugs, a wick heater, the total sum of 51,150 pesos in bills of different denominations, a compact brick of cocaine hydrochloride, weighing 980 grams, and four drug wrappers ready for delivery.
In the second procedure there was no arrest and they only identified a 55-year-old man.
The detainee and the kidnapped elements were transferred to the Morón judicial headquarters.
