MEXICO CITY (Reuters) -Precursor chemical compounds utilized by Mexican cartels to make the lethal opioid fentanyl don’t come from China, its embassy in Mexico mentioned on Tuesday, rejecting U.S. officers’ accusations.

The embassy mentioned in an announcement that China had measures in place to stop the trafficking of gear used to make unlawful medication, and added the U.S. was “blindly shirking its duties” by not taking home motion.

“The foundation of the fentanyl disaster in the USA is inside itself,” the embassy mentioned.

U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration has been searching for cooperation with each Mexico and China in stemming the movement of fentanyl, which has fueled a well being disaster and a pointy rise in overdose deaths, in addition to its precursor chemical compounds.
