Global Courant
The third edition of the Inspiring Teachers Award begins, promoted by Clarín and Zurich, which recognizes those teachers who stand out for their innovation and daily commitment, as well as for the lasting mark they leave on their students. This initiative seeks to make visible those stories that represent teaching excellence and mobilize the entire community in favor of quality education.
Until August 15, teachers of initial, primary and secondary levels from all over the country can apply.
“Education is essential to build a better future with greater opportunities. The 21st century challenges us with new technologies, skills and learning. In this sense, the school is the territory par excellence that contributes to training us as people, developing creativity, critical thinking and interpersonal relationships”, says Adriana Arias, head of Communications & Sustainability in Zurich.
“For this reason, through a new edition of ‘Teachers that Inspire’ we seek to recognize, accompany and encourage teachers in the challenging path of teaching. They are the ones with their essential role who every day guide and motivate students from all over the country in their growth and prepare them for tomorrow”, he affirms.
As in the two previous editions, the work of six finalist teachers will be recognized for their commitment to education and the development of the country’s future generations. Through a Grand Jury, made up of leaders in the educational ecosystem, the Inspirational Teacher of the Year will be chosen, who will receive a prize of three million pesos and another two mentions of one million pesos each, to continue promoting their projects.
“Teaching is being able to generate concerns in students about different problems, transmit values and train citizens,” shared Marcela Carrivale, one of the six finalists during last year’s award ceremony. “I think that being motivated in the classroom causes the student to learn in a more meaningful way,” highlighted Damián Javier Ortiz, who was chosen Inspirational Teacher of the Year in the 2nd edition.
Who can apply to become an inspirational teacher? The candidate can be any teacher who is working in an educational establishment, officially endorsed by the Ministry of Education of the Nation. In addition, he must teach compulsory course students, which ranges from class 4 to the last year of high school.
“An inspiring teacher is an example for his students, he is someone who can follow in his footsteps,” says Karina Filippi, a finalist teacher in the 2022 edition.
“Education is the basis for aspiring to personal development and social progress, and also the pillar of a citizenry committed to democracy and its values. The role of teachers is essential to carry out this task. For this reason, we are very enthusiastic about launching the third edition of this federal award, with which we seek to distinguish those teachers who develop innovative practices, improve the quality of their students’ learning and spread their enthusiasm to colleagues and the whole of society. Through this initiative we seek to put education and methods in the foreground of teaching of those who make a difference in their classes”, adds Martín Etchevers, manager of Institutional Relations and Communications of Grupo Clarín.
To apply as candidates, teachers who want to do so or who want to nominate someone must complete the forms on the official website of the award, www.docentesqueinspiran.com.ar in which you have to detail the reason why the teacher deserves to be recognized, as well as some contact information.
