The lifeless body of a two-year-old girl missing from South Carolina floods has been found.

Matilda Sheils and her nine-month-old brother were swept away by the raging water last weekend.

Matilda and younger brother Conrad disappeared after the family car was hit by water while traveling from their home in Charleston, South Carolina, to visit relatives in Pennsylvania.

Her body was found about 30 miles away near a sewage treatment plant in Philadelphia. Police in Upper Makefield County confirmed the ‘tragic’ news on Saturday.

Officials said their mother, Katie Seley, 32, was killed by the flooding. Their father, Jim Sheils, held their four-year-old son while a grandmother held the other children.

Jim and the little girl escaped, but the rushing water swept away the children’s mother.

Four other people drowned in the area, according to the Bucks County Coroner’s Office.

They were Enzo Depiero, 78, and Linda Depiero, 74, of Newtown; Yuko Love, 64, of Newtown; and Susan Barnhart, 53, of Titusville, New Jersey.
