Nearsightedness Causes… Is It Really The Eye?

I started my last article titled “High Myopia – What Causes Myopia?” saying that if you’re easily offended by the truth, you better stop reading, and that’s even more true of this article…

If you can’t face the truth about the causes of your nearsightedness and what it really takes to improve your vision, stop here. If you can handle it, buckle up, you’re in for a ride!

The truth is that the cause of myopia is not in your eyes at all. Your eye problem is just a symptom of the cause. The real cause is psychological. And there are few psychological reasons, which we will discuss in a series of articles.

Today we start with my favorite, why so many younger people, mid to late teens, early twenties, get nearsightedness. It’s the fear of the future.

“What nonsense”, I hear many say, “my optometrist says it has to do with the shape of my lens”, others may think, but before you dismiss anything here, keep an open mind and let’s see how it all fits together.

Myopia caused from a different perspective

You see, our mind is so strong, it can literally make us obscure what we don’t want to see. In our mid to late teens or early twenties, we are faced with the question of what we want or should do with the rest of our lives. But the concept of days in relation to a life cannot yet be understood, that only comes about by the time we are 40 – 50 years old (see “The Continuum Concept” by Jean Liedloff, p 43). How should we understand what we want to do every day of our lives?

So when we’re faced with the question of what to do for the rest of our lives, we get scared, and I mean really scared. But what does that have to do with causes of nearsightedness? Good question, hold on.

How does that cause nearsightedness?

People in a state of fear become stressed. So stressed that our muscles tense and tighten. Now when that happens in our eye muscles, the muscles flatten the eyeball, enlarging it like the zoom of a photo lens, and that changes the shape of the lens. The shape of the lens becomes stepper as the eyeball is filled with fluid and when compressed the elongation causes a steeper shape of the lens.

Putting glasses in front of the stressed eyes does not solve the problem because we are still under stress, in a state of anxiety and our eye muscles are still tense. The glasses only help us see into the distance, the very distance we didn’t want to see in the first place. So, no matter how strong our mind is, it just tightens the muscles a little bit more, squeezes the eyeball further, and viola there’s the next level of myopia, and you need new glasses.

This will continue until you resolve the underlying reasons. Solving the underlying reasons is much easier than wearing glasses, completely natural, cheap as chips compared to paying for glasses for a lifetime, and you and your mind can easily get rid of myopia. Glasses, on the other hand, will not cut it, they will only increase the tension over time, causing your vision to deteriorate every now and then.

The solution to causes of myopia

The way to deal with your psychological causes of nearsightedness is natural vision correction. That is it!

Now the fear of the future is only one possible underlying cause of myopia, there are many more causes of myopia, but the concept is always the same. Your mind exerts tension on the eye muscles, which lengthen the eyeball and thereby change the shape of the lens.

You can do something about the causes of nearsightedness, and you should, because seeing clearly without glasses is your birthright. You should enjoy it every day of your life. There’s no reason in the world why you shouldn’t.
