A shooting at an illegal street racing event in a Seattle neighborhood on Sunday morning left four victims injured, one of them critical, authorities said.
Officers responded to a report of a large crowd and recklessly driving vehicles at the intersection of Broadway and East Pike Street in the Capitol Hill neighborhood around 1:30 a.m., Seattle police said.
According to police, the crowd initially resisted the officers’ attempts to disrupt the event.
Just before 4 a.m., officers who remained on the scene heard gunshots and found two victims at the intersection.

“People were having a good time. And that was it,” a man named Poe told FOX13 Seattle. “Before you know it – thought it was fireworks, but it was gunfire.”
Police performed lifesaving measures on both victims until firefighters arrived.
No arrests have yet been made and no suspects have been identified as of Monday morning. (FOX13 Seattle KCPQ)
One victim, in his late twenties, was treated at the scene and taken to hospital in stable condition. A woman in her 20s or 30s was treated for life-threatening injuries and taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. No update on the woman’s condition was immediately available.
Another woman suffered a gunshot wound and spoke to officers several blocks from the intersection before leaving the crime scene. She later arrived at a hospital for treatment.

A fourth victim, a man, also arrived at the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Gunfire also broke out near the 1400 block of Harvard Avenue, according to authorities, where police found a male victim who said he had been shot at.
Investigators discovered several bullet casings, but found no suspects.
