It is possible to use WhatsApp without a cell phone number or SIM card. There are different ways to do this. Below you will find details about each method.
Use WhatsApp with a landline number
In order to use WhatsApp with a landline number, you must download and install the WhatsApp Business app, which is also free.
When the app asks you to register a phone, you must enter the user’s landline number.
Important: You must request that the activation code be sent via phone call rather than SMS.
With this six-digit code that you receive via phone call, you can now use WhatsApp Business, which offers more functionalities than the original version since, among other things, it offers the possibility of scheduling replies.

Since it is not tied to a mobile phone, adding contacts requires you to manually create a list.
Use WhatsApp via connected devices
WhatsApp also offers the option of linking it to another smartphone account of the user. This can be done from another phone or from a tablet or computer.
The first step is opening WhatsApp web and select Desktop View from the options menu.
Then open WhatsApp on your phone, click on the top right and select the “Link device” option.
Select “Add Device” and then scan the QR code with the second phone.

Once this step is completed, WhatsApp can be used on the second phone without a SIM card.
Clarification: This option allows you to use the messaging service only through the web browser, as the traditional application cannot register on two different devices with the same phone number.
Use WhatsApp with a virtual phone number
There are various applications that allow you to create virtual phone numbers and use them to configure WhatsApp.
Some of these apps are Cloud SIM, Hushed and Flyp. Anyone who wants to use it must download it from their virtual store, whether on Android or Apple, and register a user.

Every time a WhatsApp account is activated on a new device, the system sends a code via SMS to check if it matches the phone number. This verification code should never be shared.
If a user receives messages from a supposedly known person asking for money, it is advisable to contact them via voice or video call to confirm the authenticity of the request.
