Texas authorities have launched extra particulars within the line-of-duty demise of a Harris County deputy who was hit by a truck whereas working a crash earlier this week.
Deputy Investigator John Coddou, 50, died on Tuesday after he was hit by a person driving a Chevrolet Silverado 2500 whereas investigating a minor crash within the northbound lanes of Freeway 99 at round 9:36 a.m., a site visitors report from the Harris County Sheriff’s Workplace stated.

Lower than 10 minutes later, a white Silverado approached the scene by driving within the lane Coddou’s automobile was blocking. Whereas the motive force has not been publicly recognized, the report stated it was a “identified male.”

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez stated the division was “deeply saddened” by his demise and a procession was held in his honor on Thursday. FOX 26 Houston reported that Coddou served with the Harris County Sheriff’s Workplace for 20 years.
