Professional-Palestine demonstrators protested the annual White Home Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday, denouncing the Biden administration’s dealing with of the battle in Gaza and media protection of the battle that has killed tens of hundreds.
Organized by the US activist group, CodePink, the protest came about outdoors the Washington Hilton, the place the dinner was being held.
Demonstrators greeted officers from the administration, journalists and celebrities coming into the venue with chants of “Disgrace on you.”
Protesters displayed a big Palestinian flag from the window of the resort and staged a “die-in” to honor journalists killed in Israeli assaults towards the Gaza Strip.
They held banners that learn: “Ceasefire”, “Free Palestine” and “Biden’s legacy is genocide.”
Protesters additionally chanted slogans together with “Genocide Joe”, “Free Palestine” and “Western media, disgrace on you! You might be hiding genocide too!”
Many demonstrators wore keffiyehs, a shawl that has come to represent solidarity with Palestine, and waved Palestinian flags.
“The Correspondents’ Dinner is nothing greater than a celebration and endorsement of the administration’s actions. It isn’t journalism. It’s complicity,” the group wrote on X.
