Israeli military claims 4 rockets fired towards Kerem Shalom space

The Israeli military claimed on Saturday that it intercepted one out of 4 rockets launched from Rafah in southern Gaza in direction of the unlawful settlement of Kerem Shalom, close to Rafah metropolis, whereas the opposite three fell in open areas.

“Following the sirens that had been activated within the Kerem Shalom space some time in the past, 4 rocket launches had been detected from Rafah,” the military mentioned on X.

The military added, “The air protection fighters (system) managed to intercept one rocket, and the remainder fell in an open space, with no accidents reported.”

No Palestinian factions have claimed accountability for the rocket launches as of 1300GMT.

Kerem Shalom is positioned within the so-called Eshkol Regional Council (which incorporates 32 settlements round Gaza), close to the Palestinian metropolis of Rafah, and serves as a frontline space for Israeli forces coming into Gaza.

The navy had earlier ordered 100,000 displaced Palestinian residents in Rafah to evacuate to Al-Mawasi forward of launching an invasion.

A number of nations have already warned Israel towards launching a navy operation in Rafah, which homes at the least 1.5 million displaced Palestinians.
