A California inmate serving time for homicide tried to stab a sheriff’s deputy and a fellow inmate with a makeshift knife, prompting a chaotic brawl within the jail that was caught on video.
The violence unfolded on the West Valley Detention Heart in Rancho Cucamango round 2:45 p.m., the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Division (SBSD) stated in a information launch.
Christopher Lommie Jackson, 25, who’s been in custody since 2019, armed himself with a jail-made metallic knife and tried to stab one other inmate, sheriff’s deputies stated.
When deputies arrived to interrupt up the altercation, Jackson tried to stab a deputy and knock him to the bottom, prompting extra deputies to intervene to cease the assault. The violence spilled out into the hall as deputies pinned Jackson all the way down to cease him.

“Such violent conduct poses a severe menace to the security and safety of our employees and inmate populations,” Sheriff Shannon Dicus stated in a press release. “Our deputies work tirelessly to keep up order and supply a safe atmosphere inside our correctional amenities. We’ll pursue the utmost authorized penalties for individuals who perform assaults in our correctional amenities.”
SBSD stated Jackson has had a number of prior arrests for violent offenses in San Bernardino County.
