When those who should take care of the citizens are the ones who attack them. That sentence sums up what happened in a tourism agency located near the Obelisk. The employees called 911 to report an assault and three City police officers who went to assist them stole 4 million pesos.
The troops were detained in different Federal Police units and accused of stealing the heat-sealed bundles that were in the company’s offices at Avenida Corrientes 922. The owner of the agency called the 1D Police Station to report what had happened, thinking that the bag had been taken by mistake. To his surprise, the police station confirmed that the procedural report did not mention any kidnapping of that amount.
The robbery, which was now known, took place last Wednesday after agency employees called 911 for help as two criminals had stolen thousands of pesos and escaped.
After that call, the biggest robbery of the day they suffered was triggered when the three members of the Metropolitan arrived at the scene and took the bag with the 4 million pesos.
Justice acted quickly and was able to find the bag in the search of the house of inspector PAD, located in Entre Ríos at 1900 in Parque Patricios. He was the only one of those detained who refused to testify.
In the meantime, his companions disassociated themselves from the situation, since they leave the building without the money. “I am an honest policeman, I am 48 years old, and 23 years of service, I have never had this type of problem. I am a poor policeman, I live on my salary and I don’t want to get into any trouble. If PAD took advantage of the procedure to take something, I didn’t see it. I didn’t realize he had taken money. I want to emphasize that I only know PAD as a co-worker, about a year ago. I do not have personal treatment. I cannot vouch for his conduct. What’s more: I don’t like him, he is very arrogant, ”said the senior JACS officer in writing.
Likewise, the YSM agent followed the same line and expressed in her written statement: “They raided my house, they arrested me. It was all very terrible to see the faces of my children without understanding what was happening. I know little or nothing about PAD. I think he was reinstated two days ago from an ART topic. I was never a cell phone partner or anything, I never worked with him. I can’t vouch for his behavior. I never had a problem of this type. The only thing I always looked for with this job was a decent salary to raise my children, I am separated. I am very distraught and scared.”
