A 16-year-old teenager who was hospitalized in intensive care and with brain damage since Tuesday, April 18, when he was shot in the back during a police chase in Comodoro Rivadavia, died this Wednesday at the regional hospital and the case is investigating four agents.
The young man was hospitalized as a result of a bullet wound to the neck, exiting through the clavicle, which he received in an alleged case of institutional violence in the “Las Rosas” alley in the San Martín neighborhood, on the east coast of chubut.
Initially, the police version indicated that the adolescent had been found “wounded by a firearm and conscious,” but shortly after investigating the province’s attorney general, Juan Carlos Caperochipi, acknowledged at a press conference that “the facts were very different” to that reported by the troops who intervened.

“I received a call on Sunday morning (last week) saying that my son was found by the police lying and bleeding to death in the San Martín neighborhood,” he said.
And he added: “The police intervened with false statements, they being the perpetrators of the act because he was shot in the head, and we beg that the investigation continue so that everything comes to light.”

According to sources from the prosecutor’s office to Télam, the non-commissioned officers involved were not detained since more evidence was expected to be presented at the hearing to open the investigation and also the victim’s own statement, which was never produced.
