The victim reported that there were two people in the building at 800 Córdoba Avenue where she was attacked.
A 38-year-old woman denounced that she was raped by two men she met in a pool and that they took her to an apartment in downtown Buenos Aires. There they forced her to drink alcohol and drugs to abuse her. One of the suspects, a Colombian national, was arrested for the case, police sources reported this Friday.
The complaint was filed on Thursday around 9.30 and was known this Friday. According to the woman, it happened on Avenida Córdoba 860, on the border of the neighborhoods of San Nicolás and Retiro.
The complainant reported that she managed to go out after breaking one of the windows at the entrance of the building. A cell phone from the 1D neighborhood police station of the City Police went there.
In this context, she told the police that she had been the victim of sexual abuse in one of the departments of the building, although she was disoriented and did not know which one.
A man of Colombian nationality was arrested after a complaint of sexual abuse in a downtown apartment. They seized cell phones and are looking for another man who would have been at the scene.
The woman said that in the early hours of the morning she had met two men in a nearby pool, located at the intersection of Suipacha and Lavalle streets, and that they invited her to go to the home of one of them.
Always according to the complaint, the woman said that there she was forced to consume alcohol and drugs and that, in an unconscious state, she had been sexually abused.
She also explained that the two men threw her “by pushing” out of the apartment and that it was in that situation that she went out into the street. In addition, she recounted that yesterday she asked for help without remembering precisely which floor was the apartment where the abuse occurred.
The woman was transferred by an ambulance from the Emergency Medical Care System (SAME) to the Argerich hospital, where she was given all the protocol assistance for this type of case where a sexual assault is intervened.
The case began to be investigated by prosecutor Leonel Gómez Barbella, in charge of the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office 8, who ordered a police search in the building and investigative tasks and receipt of evidence and testimonies in the pool mentioned by the victim.
Investigators were able to determine that the apartment where the victim was – on the ninth floor – was rented by a man of Colombian nationality.
Police spokesmen indicated that the order to search the apartment where the situation denounced by the woman had occurred was issued by the prosecutor Gómez Barbella and signed by the Criminal and Correctional Judge 29, Carina Rodríguez. It was at 2 in the morning this Friday, after more than 16 hours of filing the complaint.
There, City Police personnel arrested a 27-year-old Colombian man, as part of a procedure in which two cell phones, a bag with two pills, a precision scale, underwear, and towels were also kidnapped.
The defendant was charged with the crimes of “sexual abuse and illegal deprivation of liberty” and will be investigated in the next few hours by the judge and the prosecutor. Meanwhile, he continues the investigation and the search for the other implicated mentioned by the victim.
