A 37-year-old woman and her 9-year-old daughter died this Monday afternoon after being hit by a truck in the Mendoza department of San Martín, some 40 kilometers east of the city of Mendoza.
The tragic traffic accident occurred after 6:00 p.m., when the victims were riding a bicycle on the North Side of Route 7, at the height of the El Nevado neighborhood. That’s where they were hit by a Jeep Gladiator 1000.
The woman, identified by the police as Zulma Virginia Milla, had gone to look for her daughter Luz Elena Milla Leyes at the Ítalo Acerbis school and, when they returned, they were run over a few meters from the educational establishment by a vehicle driven by Domingo Marino Soto Bizaguirre, a 72-year-old retiree.
Coordinated Emergency Service personnel arrived at the scene and verified the death of the victims.

The evidence indicates that there was no evasive maneuver to try to avoid them. According to testimonies taken by local media, the man who was driving the truck possibly did not see them, being dazzled by the sun. “It is a tragic fact. We have two witnesses, who are testifying and gave interesting information.
