A 19-year-old boy died today after losing control of his vehicle and hitting the guardrail and then crashing into a tree on General Paz avenue, near the Villa Lugano neighborhood of Buenos Aires, police sources reported.
The accident occurred at 4:20 a.m. at the intersection of General Paz and Chilavert avenues, near the Riachuelo, when the driver of an EcoSport truck lost control of his vehicle and first hit a guardrail and then ended up embedded against a tree, according to sources from Autopista del Sol specified.
On impact, the truck caught fire. The driver of the vehicle died on the spot, according to sources from the Buenos Aires City Police.
Members of the 8C Neighborhood Police Station approached after receiving the complaint. The firefighters put out the fire and maneuvers were carried out to free the driver, who once out of the vehicle, SAME verified that he had died.
At the scene of the accident, personnel from the Emergency Medical Care System (SAME), firefighters and the City Police intervened, who carried out expert work. The victim was a young Bolivian national.
After the expert work and removal of the wrecked vehicle, the lane was released by Buenos Aires police personnel, according to sources from the Secretary of Transportation and Public Works of the City of Buenos Aires.
