The U-21 national team will start training on Monday for the friendly match against Bulgaria, which will be played at the ‘Elbasan Arena’ stadium on June 20.
At noon of this Thursday, the coach of Shpresa, Alban Bushi revealed the list of 22 footballers called for this challenge where there are a number of new names to be tested for the friendly match that will also be valid for the elimination campaign that will start in September for the “European 2025” championship.
“The match against Bulgaria will be of great value to us to prepare the team for the first official match that we will play in September against Armenia, because both teams have the same game system. It is true that we may have some shortages of players, that some have been prevented by clubs or some have moved to the first team A, but the players we have got are of a very good level and will handle this match very well both in terms of the game as well as in that of the result.”
But the situation of taking some players from the first A team, although it somewhat hurts the hope team, as Bushi points out, has already created a tradition with the creation of elements coming from the chain teams.
“The work done with the chain teams has already yielded results as the first team no longer receives ready, adult players who come from abroad at an adult age like we used to get Gjimshiti or Mavraj, but we have players who are formed in the chain teams and they move up to the first team A forming a kind of tradition”.
In this list of 22 players, 14 come from foreign championships and 8 of them from the Albanian championship, while a part is in the first A team that can join the Shpresa national team in September, when the European qualifiers begin. Albania is in Group E along with Switzerland, Romania, Finland, Montenegro and Armenia.
