All Elite Wrestling to Launch Saturday Show

All Elite Wrestling is launching a new Saturday night episodic program starting June 17, Warner Bros. announced. Discovery on his upfronts show on Wednesday.

“AEW: Collision” will air two hours of programming Saturday at 8 p.m. ET, the company said. Thunder Rosa, Miro, Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs and Andrade El Idolo are among the headliners of the new show next month.

“With the addition of ‘AEW: Collision’ to TNT, I am extremely proud that a Turner network will be home to Saturday night wrestling for the first time in over two decades,” said Tony Khan, co-founder of AEW. press release. “The debut of ‘Collision’ is significant across many industries, including television, wrestling, entertainment and sports, and cements AEW as the bold feature we envisioned when we launched in 2019. ‘Collision’ will deliver more every Saturday night live of what fans and viewers tell us they want: athleticism, big personalities, thrilling storylines and authentic wrestling action, all of which have become synonymous with AEW.”

All Elite Wrestling has been producing a weekly show on Turner networks since October 2019. “Dynamite” airs on TBS on Wednesdays, while “Rampage” airs an hour-long show on TNT on Fridays.

AEW is seen as WWE’s biggest competitor since the 1990s, when World Championship Wrestling was in the midst of a ratings war with the Vince McMahon-led company.

“We’re doubling down on ‘AEW: Collision’ wrestling, which gives fans two more hours each week,” Jason Sarlanis, president of Turner Networks, said in a statement. “AEW’s roster of talent has expanded so quickly that we felt it took one more night to bring our audiences the epic rivalries, unforgettable matches and stars they love to watch. By adding ‘Collision’ to our program mix on TNT , we can meet the huge demand we’ve felt from our hardcore fan base and be the ultimate addition to ‘AEW: Dynamite’ on TBS.”

Pro wrestling fans have an even greater arsenal of content to watch on a daily basis. WWE’s RAW and NXT air shows on Monday and Tuesday nights, respectively. The National Wrestling Alliance airs “Powerrr” on Tuesday nights. Impact Wrestling airs its tapings on Thursdays, and WWE follows with SmackDown on Fridays.
