If you’re reading this, you’re looking for the answers about Crohn’s disease. You’ve been told there’s no real reason for it; therefore there is no remedy. The only option you are left with is treatment with the powerful pharmaceutical drugs.

Most likely you are confused. You fear pain, bloody diarrhea, fatigue, the possibility of colon removal, cancer, and side effects of the medications you are taking. In the jungle of the Internet, thousands of websites promise and sell miracle cures. The situation with Crohn’s disease is extremely complicated. Even medical authorities on the subject write, “Seventy-five years after the characterization of Crohn’s as a unique entity, we are still in the dark”.

Let me share some ideas about causes and possible non-drug treatments for this disease. All I will tell you is information from the statistical and medical literature, the practice of the doctors of other countries, and my own 40 years of experience with Crohn’s disease. Yes, we do not know what is the real cause of this disease, but some facts can bring this problem to light.

All medical statistics show the growth of autoimmune diseases, including Crohn’s disease, over the last 60 years, mainly in North America, Europe, New Zealand and much less in Southeast Asia and South America. We can’t blame genes; they cannot change in 60 years. Some scientists consider Crohn’s disease to be a disease of the wealthy and associate Crohn’s disease with Westernization.

You’ve been told that Crohn’s disease is a hereditary disease, so you haven’t had a chance to escape it. The final role of genetics is only 15%. I personally believe in the heredity of the lifestyle when people have cesarean section from generation to generation, are only bottle fed and eat unhealthy food, drink alcohol, smoke, have the same vaccinations and infections, take antibiotics, NSAIDs and live or work in the toxic environment, etc.

No wonder lifestyle heredity is responsible for many ailments and medical articles and books prove it. Therefore, 85% of harmful environmental factors play a role in the development of autoimmune diseases, which have been increasing in the last 60 years.

You’ve been told that Crohn’s disease is an autoimmune disease when the immune system goes berserk by attacking a person’s own tissue. Normally, the immune system is designed to protect humans against invaders such as harmful microorganisms and toxins.

There are three common immune system disorders. The immune system can be weak after viral, bacterial or parasitic infections, chemotherapy, immunosuppressants, radiation, stress, AIDS, heavy metal toxicity, low adrenals and thyroid, etc. Secondly, the immune system can run at extra high. We can see it in many allergic diseases, food and chemical sensitivity, vaccinations, chronic infections, etc. All of these factors can trigger an abnormal immune response in predisposed individuals.

Unfortunately, there are no specific tests for Crohn’s disease; therefore, alternative diagnoses should be ruled out, such as intestinal infections and parasites, diarrhea after antibiotics, Clostridium difficile diarrhea, celiac disease, lactose intolerance, exacerbation of irritable bowel syndrome-IBS, diverticulitis, side effects of NSAID, Candida yeast overgrowth, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth- SIBO, colon cancer and more.

I have been helping the patients of ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease for many years and I strongly believe that the solution to controlling autoimmune diseases is to simultaneously control digestion, dysbiosis (candida yeast overgrowth, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth -SIBO) and the body’s chronic acidity.

The key to a healthy digestive system is healthy pancreatic function and a good balance of the friendly intestinal flora. Unfortunately, the beneficial intestinal flora of the modern man has diminished and changed. If the baby has not received a mother-friendly intestinal flora due to natural birth and the mother’s milk or the child receives numerous courses of antibiotics from the first year of life, the beneficial intestinal flora is replaced by yeast, harmful bacteria and parasites.

These nasty invaders irritate and inflame the walls of the small intestine, creating a porous, leaky gut, fermenting undigested food and producing a myriad of toxins. This can cause a huge strain on the immune system with its overwork manifested by allergic reactions and allergic conditions. Allergy always exists with Crohn’s disease; it is a leading player in all autoimmune diseases.

Modern diet with unhealthy eating habits, consumption of the chemically modifying, “dead” food products, sugars, white flour, bad fats and oils, processed cow’s milk, can deplete the pancreas function. The pancreas must produce more pancreatic digestive enzymes to digest “dead” foods without natural digestive enzymes. Improperly digested food passes through the porous, leaky gut into the blood, causing extra overwork for the immune system.

In addition, wheat and milk were introduced into the human diet only 10,000 years ago. From then on, the digestive systems did not adapt well to lectins; proteins in grains and beans (e.g. gluten) or casein (protein in cow’s milk). Poorly digestible lectins pass through the porous, leaky gut wall into the blood system, attach to body tissues and mimic healthy cells. Confused immune system by attacking the lectins also destroys the healthy intestinal cells. Many scientists believe it may be a central mechanism for triggering “crazy” immune responses, especially in predisposed individuals.

There is also some evidence that Crohn’s disease is an infection, and Mycobacterium avium causing cow tuberculosis may play a role in the development of Crohn’s disease.

The question arises. Can alternative medicine methods help? My answer is “Yes,” because these methods not only target aggressive immune responses and inflammation, but also potential causes of the disease, the consequences of the disease, and treatments. Many of these methods are proven, scientifically and clinically proven. Some are widely used by doctors in other countries. They are:

1. Strictly non-lectin, anti-Candida, separate and alkaline-forming diet

2. Drinking medicinal mineral water prepared from the real Karlovy Vary thermal spring salt

3. Super Strains, Bile Resistant Probiotics

4. Herbal formulas, herbal extracts and teas

5. High quality and powerful variety of the nutritional supplements such as minerals, trace elements, vitamins, amino and essential fatty acids, various supplements for immunity support, pain and anxiety reduction, Candida yeast control, bacterial and parasitic overgrowth, healing the intestinal wall and precursors of the neurotransmitters

6. Acupuncture: Chinese body, Japanese scalp, Russian earlobe, Korean wrist-foot, cupping, electro-acupuncture

7. Medical Hypnosis, Deep Relaxation, Custom Self Hypnosis CD, etc

Some of these healing methods are practically unknown in the US. For example, one of the unknown methods is drinking healing mineral water for ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease. For more than 500 years, European doctors sent their patients with chronic diarrhea or bloody diarrhea to the small Czech town of Karlovy Vary to drink healing mineral water from the thermal spring.

Understanding that the mineral content of this water is an important therapeutic ingredient, Czech doctors suggested to produce the real Karlovy Vary thermal spring salt. By dissolving this salt in water, anyone can make beneficial mineral water at home. Through scientific research, Karlovy Vary is medicinal mineral water

• Normalizes acid-base balance

• Improves liver and pancreas function

• Increases the amount and quality of pancreatic digestive enzymes

• Promotes the growth of friendly intestinal flora

• Heals damaged intestinal wall, reduces inflammation

• Restore the balance of water, essential minerals and trace elements

Nearly all patients with ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease are aware of and may already be using probiotics. On the other hand, not many people realize that mixing probiotics with antibiotics, immunosuppressants, and steroids either doesn’t work or has potential risks.

We can make the analogy of the gastrointestinal tract with garden. It is difficult or impossible to grow roses when the garden is full of weeds, pests, rodents, chemicals and the soil is dry and deficient. The roses themselves must also be of acceptable quality. No one can improve the condition of the garden without the help of a qualified professional. Restoring the friendly intestinal flora is vital, but it is not a quick fix and self-treatment.

Due to clinical studies and my experience, it is impractical to achieve stable remission without restoring normal pancreatic function. The low function of the pancreas, the low amount and the poor quality of the pancreatic digestive enzymes all exacerbate autoimmune diseases; I explained that in my eBook. Chronic bloody diarrhea has plagued mankind for millennia. Therefore, ancient doctors faced this problem some time ago and gained experience in the treatment of chronic diarrhea, mainly by healing food, herbs and acupuncture.

Thus, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are the result of multifactor interaction between genetic, immune-related, environmental, digestive, infectious, and possible medical triggers. If I accept that, I don’t believe in the panacea or panacea in this case. Only the hard work and cooperation between the patient, his/her friends, relatives, PCP and knowledgeable, licensed physicians can take the patient to stable remission. Tailored, simultaneously accomplished combination of natural, holistic, non-drug methods of alternative medicine can be very beneficial for people with ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease.

The goal is to improve pancreas function and complete digestion, restore friendly intestinal flora and normalize acid-base balance, regulate immune response and inflammation, and replace deficiencies.

Rush doesn’t help. Stopping medications abruptly can lead to a rebound effect that can make things worse. Therefore, after we have helped to achieve clinical remission, the patient and his/her doctor will decide to safely discontinue the medication by overlapping them by using more of the non-drug methods.
